Become a Driver

Time for you

to get on the roads

1. Getting your provisional licence

Before you learn to drive you must be over 17 years old, and you need to get your provisional license. You can apply for this from the DVLA. The application form ( D1) can be obtained from the main Post Office.

2. The Theory Test

The theory test must be passed before you can book the practical test. It is a multiple choice test, and also includes a hazard perception test. Your driving instructor can advice you on the material that will need to be covered in preparation for the theory test and your instructor will be there to provide you with support at every stage. To book your theory test you will need to contact the DSA on 0300 200 1122 or www.dsa.gov.uk

3. The Practical Test

Your instructor will let you know when he feels that you are ready for your practical test. To book your practical test you will need to contact the DSA on 0300 200 1122 or www.dsa.gov.uk

Please contact us if you have any questions with regards to the above.
